Pricing Price is always a major consideration when purchasing a vehicle. The good news is that the Cadillac XT4 and XT5 are both reasonably priced for luxury vehicles. The XT4 is Cadillac's entry-level SUV, and it's priced accordingly. Starting at just $36,295 MSRP, the XT4's base price compares well with its compact and subcompact luxury SUV rivals. It offers a comfortable ride and decent features and amenities for its price point. The XT5, on the other hand, hits the luxury sweet spot and is a bit more expensive than the XT4. It starts at $44,195 MSRP, but its features and amenities more than justify the slightly higher price tag. Your extra money also gets you a larger and more powerful engine and a longer list of standard features. If you're looking for the best bang for your buck in the Cadillac SUV lineup, the XT5 is probably your best bet. Drivetrain, Performance, and Transmission The 2023 Cadillac XT4 features a standard 2.0L turbocharged four-cylinder engine that makes 235 horsepower and 258 lb-ft of torque. It's peppy and gets the job done, but it's not going to set any speed records. The nine-speed automatic transmission is smooth and shifts quickly, and the XT4 has standard front-wheel drive, with all-wheel drive available as an option. If you plan on doing any off-roading or live in an area with harsh winters, we recommend opting for the all-wheel drive. The 2023 Cadillac XT5 has the same 2.0L turbocharged four-cylinder engine as standard, but you can upgrade to a more powerful 3.6L V-6 engine. This makes 310 horsepower and 271 lb-ft of torque, which is a significant increase over the base engine. This model features the same nine-speed automatic transmission, standard front-wheel drive, and optional all-wheel drive as the XT4. The XT5 is the way to go if you're looking for a more powerful engine. But, if you're happy with the base engine and don't need the extra power, you'll also be perfectly happy with the XT4. Safety and Driver-Assistance Features Safety is always a top priority when purchasing a new vehicle. The Cadillac XT4 and XT5 both include a long list of standard safety features, with a few notable differences between the two. Standard features on the XT4 include, automatic emergency braking, front and rear parking sensors, front pedestrian braking, teen driver technology, passenger sensing system, rear park assist, and an HD rear-view camera. It also offers an optional Driver Awareness Package with blind-spot monitoring, lane-keep assist, and adaptive cruise control. The XT5, on the other hand, has all the features mentioned above, plus a few extras. As well as the Driver Awareness Package, it also comes standard with surround vision, which gives you a 360-degree view of your surroundings, and lane change alert with side blind zone alert. In addition to airbags positioned in every possible impact zone, the XT4 and XT5 incorporate OnStar, an in-vehicle emergency assistance service offering features such as automatic crash notification, stolen vehicle assistance, and roadside assistance. Cadillac Connected Services and automatic emergency braking are also standard on both vehicles. Overall, both vehicles boast a long list of standard safety features. However, if you're looking for a few extras, the XT5 is probably the better option. Infotainment and Tech Features Nowadays, it's hard to find a new car that doesn't come packed with the latest and greatest in technology and amenities. We've come to expect a certain level of sophistication and convenience from our vehicles, and the 2023 Cadillac XT models don't disappoint. Both SUVs include all the 21st-century creature comforts one could hope for. But which one has the edge when it comes to these features? Let's take a closer look. They're compact enough to navigate swiftly through traffic, have plenty of interior space to comfortably seat up to five people, and you can depend on them on any terrain. The 2022 Chevrolet Equinox and 2022 GMC Terrain are two excellent examples of successful small SUVs, and the fact that they share a platform means that they have a lot in common. They're not identical, however, and some features may convince buyers to choose one over the other. Here's how they compare. Exterior Features Both the 2022 Chevrolet Equinox and the 2022 GMC Terrain are well-designed vehicles with a modern exterior appearance. Although choosing a favorite between the two simply based on looks is highly subjective, each has optional trim features that can be added to enhance and customize your vehicle. You'll also appreciate the onboard 4G LTE Wi-Fi hotspot, immersive six-speaker sound system, and the 7-inch infotainment touch-screen interface. Moving up the trim ladder, each provides excellent interior amenities that enhance the vehicle's style, comfort, and functionality — and most options are available for both. Some of the 2022 GMC Terrain's optional interior features will enhance the comfort of your ride, such as a dual-zone climate control system, elegant leather upholstery with ventilated front seats, a comfortable leather-wrapped steering wheel, and easy-to-adjust front seats with memory functions. In addition, you can include upgraded technology features such as a larger 8-inch infotainment touch-screen interface, remote ignition function, a wireless charging pad, and even a household-style power outlet. The 2022 Chevy Equinox also offers plenty of intelligent interior options. The multi-colored driver information display, rear privacy glass, heated steering wheel, ambient cabin lighting, and heated rear seats are just a few. The remote rear-seat folding levers are an innovative addition, making it simple to fold down the back seats when you need increased cargo space. Comfort Both of these vehicles are extremely comfortable, even on long drives. The seats are well-designed and comfortable, and the wide door openings make it easy to get in and out, regardless of size. While in motion, the cabin insulation keeps most outside noises from the road, wind, engine, and other sources to a minimum, providing a smooth and quiet ride. Price and Fuel Economy While a car's looks and features are obviously strong selling points, the cost of the vehicle is also an essential piece of information. The 2022 Chevy Equinox has a manufacturer's suggested retail price (MSRP) between $25,800 and $32,600. Its fuel economy is impressive, earning 26 mpg in city traffic, 31 mpg on the highway, and combined consumption of 31 mpg. The 2022 GMC Terrain is slightly more expensive, with an MRSP between $27,900 and $36,600. This vehicle is also incredibly fuel efficient, giving you more time behind the wheel and fewer trips to the pump. It consumes an estimated 25 mpg in city traffic, 30 mpg at highway speeds, and 27 mpg combined. Safety Features No modern vehicle is complete without active safety features designed to help the driver notice and avoid potential danger. The 2022 Chevrolet Equinox and 2022 GMC Terrain each have a long list of driver-assistant technologies to ensure you arrive safely at your destination. Some of the most useful are: Forward collision mitigation system: Warns the driver of an impending frontal impact. It automatically applies the brakes to mitigate it if it doesn't sense any input from the brake pedal. Lane keep assist system: Issues a brief, gentle steering wheel turn when it senses the vehicle drifting out of its lane without the turn signal being activated. If there is no corrective response, it will sound additional audible alerts and provide steering assist. Blind-spot monitor with rear cross-traffic alert: Warns the driver if another vehicle is in their blind spot during a lane change. It will also issue an alert if another car approaches from either side while reversing. Adaptive cruise control: Maintains a set speed and adjusts to maintain a constant distance between the vehicle and the car in front of it. The speed is reduced and increased based on the respective car's actions. Surround-view monitor: Displays a top-down view of the vehicle and the surrounding area, which can be very helpful when parking it in tight situations. Front and rear parking sensors: Alerts you if there are any obstacles around the vehicle that you may have missed on the surround-view monitor. Safety alert seat: Issues a vibration in the driver's seat when a driver-assistance alert is activated, helping the driver instantly focus on the situation. Head-up display: Displays important information directly on the windshield, helping the driver read it without taking their eyes off the road ahead. Rear-seat reminder: It alerts the driver to check their rear seats for forgotten items before leaving the vehicle. Although these two vehicles are fairly similar, each has its own unique features and advantages. Whether you need a truck to haul equipment to the work site or tow the camper for a weekend adventure, Chevy has a truck for you. The 2022 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 and 2500 HD are excellent options, depending on your needs. When it's time to purchase a truck, which is right for you? Let's take a look at the 2022 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 and Silverado 2500 HD to help determine the best truck to fit your needs. Trims Available You can get the 2022 Silverado 1500 in nine trims: WT (Work Truck), Custom, LT, RST, Custom Trail Boss, LT Trail Boss, LTZ, High Country, and ZR2. You get a locking tailgate and 17-inch steel wheels on the WT, while the Custom features body-colored trim and 20-inch aluminum wheels. Moving up to the Custom Trail Boss adds underbody skid plates and 18-inch wheels with all-terrain tires. On the LT, you find a chrome exterior trim and 17-inch alloy wheels. A body-colored exterior trim, LED fog lights and taillights, and 18-inch aluminum wheels are standard on the RST. The LT Trail Boss has LED headlights and fog lights for better visibility, and the LTZ gets power-folding outside mirrors, a power tailgate, a power-sliding rear window, and 20-inch alloy wheels. The High Country upgrades everything with enhanced LED headlights, running board side assist steps, and a spray-on bedliner. Finally, the ZR2 is perfect for off-roading, with 33-inch mud terrain tires and large underbody aluminum skid plates. The Silverado 1500 offers various cab and bed configurations to fit your needs, including a two-door regular cab, four-door extended cab, and four-door crew cab. Bed sizes include 8-foot, 6.5-foot, and 5-foot-8-inch options. The 2022 Chevrolet Silverado 2500 HD is only sold in five trims: WT, Custom, LT, LTZ, and High Country. Much like the 1500, you can choose from three cab configurations with either a long bed or a standard bed. A few different features can be found on the 2500 HD trims, even though the trim names are similar to the 1500. The WT features trailering mirrors and equipment. The Custom adds power-adjustable trailering mirrors to your heavy-duty truck. On the LT, you get chrome bumpers and a low-effort tailgate known as the EZ Lift. The LTZ features LED headlights, fog lights, chrome exterior trim, auto-dimming trailering mirrors, and 18-inch wheels. The High Country upgrades you with chrome side assist steps, body-colored bumpers, LED cargo bed lighting, a power tailgate, a power-sliding rear window, and 20-inch wheels. Power and Performance Chevy offers four engine options for the Silverado 1500. A turbocharged 2.7-liter four-cylinder engine mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission will get you 310 horsepower and 430 lb-ft of torque. With this engine, you can expect to haul up to 9,500 pounds and carry a maximum payload of 2,270 pounds. For 355 horsepower and 383 lb-ft of torque, go with the 5.3-liter V-8 matched to an eight-speed automatic transmission. The maximum towing capacity of the 5.3-liter is 11,000 pounds, with a payload of 2,080 pounds. The 6.2-liter V-8 with a 10-speed automatic transmission garners 420 horsepower and 460 lb-ft of torque. The 6.2-liter engine lets you tow up to 13,300 pounds with a maximum payload weight of 2,030 pounds. Lastly, you can get 277 horsepower and 460 lb-ft of torque with a turbocharged 3.0-liter six-cylinder diesel engine paired with the 10-speed automatic transmission. This engine delivers a maximum towing capacity of 13,300 pounds and a payload capacity of 1,930 pounds. Rear-wheel drive is standard on most trims, with a four-wheel drive option available across all nine trims. Two engines are available on the 2022 Chevrolet 2500 HD. First, you can choose a 6.6-liter V-8 paired with a six-speed automatic transmission that generates 401 horsepower and 464 lb-ft of torque. This engine allows you to tow up to 14,500 pounds with a maximum payload of 3,979 pounds. You can also opt for a 6.6-liter turbocharged diesel V-8 engine with a 10-speed automatic transmission that produces 445 horsepower and 910 lb-ft of torque. You can tow up to 18,500 pounds with a payload of 3,715 pounds. Rear-wheel drive is standard on most trims, with an optional four-wheel drive offered. Safety Features Standard safety and driver-assistance features on the 2022 Chevy Silverado 1500 include an advanced air bag system, automatic emergency braking, forward collision alert, and adaptive cruise control. Available features include a lane change alert with a side blind zone alert, a front pedestrian braking system, and a rear cross-traffic alert. You'll find a few differences in safety and driver-assistance features on the 2022 Chevrolet Silverado 2500 HD, including a trailering camera system, digital rearview mirror, and lane departure warning.
