It’s one of the most popular vehicles in GMC's lineup, and with good reason. We'll cover its features, options, and capacity statistics below. Towing Capacity and Other Core Statistics The 2023 GMC Sierra 1500's towing capacity varies based on the engine and transmission setup the owner chooses. Four options are available. The first option is a 2.7-liter turbo four-cylinder granting 310 horsepower and 420 pound-feet of torque connected to an eight-speed automatic transmission. This engine allows the 2023 Sierra 1500 to tow up to 9,400 pounds. The second option is a 5.3-liter V-8 producing 355 horsepower and 383 pound-feet of torque tied to a 10-speed automatic transmission. This engine allows the truck to tow 11,200 pounds. The third option is a 6.3-liter V-8 generating 420 horsepower and 460 pound-feet of torque hitched to a 10-speed automatic transmission. This setup allows the Sierra to tow up to 11,000 pounds. The final option is a 3.0-liter turbo-diesel six-cylinder, not a V-6, providing 277 horsepower and 460 pound-feet of torque. That engine also comes with a 10-speed automatic transmission. With four-wheel drive, this engine helps the Sierra 1500 tow up to 8,900 pounds. The diesel Sierra 1500 equipped with the towing package can tow up to 13,000 pounds. That is the best-in-class towing rating for the 2023 model year. This spread of options means prospective owners of the 2023 Sierra 1500 can choose a version that can tow just what they need. Other exterior options include an exterior LPO MultiPro audio system, a spray-in bed liner with the GMC logo set into it, four LPO wheel locks, perimeter lights, chrome window moldings, and an LED cargo area light. A signature Denali grille is available, as are auto-dimming puddle lamps and GMC MultiPro power steps. Interior Style, Features, and Options The interior style of the 2023 Sierra 1500 will make drivers think they've bought a luxury vehicle instead of a pickup, especially at the Denali trim level. Comfortable 16-way power-adjustable seats with lumbar massage units are available alongside a 15-inch upgrade to the infotainment system, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, dual-zone automatic climate control, heated and ventilated seats, a bed-mounted 120-volt AC power outlet, and adaptive cruise control. The Forge perforated leather upholstery is the brown leather option we mentioned at the opening of the section. A heated version of the leather steering wheel and a wireless charging unit are also available. A Fantastic Entertainment and Infotainment Setup Anyone who drives or rides in a 2023 GMC Sierra 1500 regularly is in for a treat.
