Vaden Scholar Athlete Program

Vaden Automotive and WSAV News 3 have partnered together to honor the outstanding performance of student athletes, in the classroom, community, and in athletic competition. You can help us recognize local high school seniors who excel in these areas by nominating them for the Vaden Automotive Scholar Athlete of the Month.

Winners of this monthly award will receive a $500.00 scholarship to the post-secondary school of their choice following graduation and have a chance to receive an additional scholarship.  For more information visit www.wsav.com

Sara Kathryn Boyles - Vaden Nissan
We were proud to recognize Sara Kathryn Boyles as our Vaden Scholar in the month of April! Sara is a decorated athlete and dedicated student at St. Vincent's Academy. She excels in Swimming and Track and Field while also maintaining an impressive 3.68 GPA! Sara is also incredibly active in her community, volunteering with Saints for Service, Buddy Walk, Ronald McDonald House and serves as an Altar Server at Blessed Sacrament Church. She plans to study Chemistry at Georgia College and State University where she'll no doubt make a big splash "periodically".

Harley Dawson - Vaden Nissan of Hinesville
We were excited to recognize Harley Dawson as our Vaden Scholar Athlete in March! Harley is truly exceptional on the filed, in the classroom and in the community. With numerous awards for participation in softball and soccer, her career at Long County High School may be best noted for leading the state in strike-outs during the Fall 2015 season. Harley is also a member of the BETA Club, Vice President of Future Health Professionals (HOSA), Senior Class Parliamentarian, and received the Georgia Certificate of Merit. She is extremely active in her community, coaching a local softball team and participating in mission trips to improve the quality of life in the Dominican Republic. Harley does all of this while maintaining an incredible 4.0 GPA! Her future is indeed very bright!

Abigale Otto - Coastal Chevrolet
We were honored to recognize Abigale Otto as our Vaden Scholar Athlete in February! Abigale is an accomplished student and determined athlete at Savannah Christian. She is a leader in the classroom, in the community and on the court. Abigale certainly has a great future ahead of her, and we look forward to watching her continue to excel!

Emilye Eischeid - Coastal Chevrolet
In January, we recognized Emilye Eischeid as our Vaden Scholar Athlete! Emilye is a senior at St. Vincent's Academy where she maintains an incredible 4.0 GPA while participating in Cross Country and Soccer, holding leardership roles for both the National Latin Exam Medalists Math Team and High Environment Club and acting as an advocate for Chatham County Resource Conservation and Education Center. This Wonder Woman plans to attend the University of Florida to obtain her degree in Health Science. We look forward to seeing many great things from her in the future.

Jeremy Wilson - Vaden Nissan
In December we recognized Jeremy Wilson as our Vaden Scholar Athlete! Jeremy is a star on the football field, on the wrestling mat, and in Track and Field! He excels in academics, just as he does in sports, even earning a spot in the National Honor Society and he is a Science Scholar! He certainly has an amazing future ahead of him and we look forward to watching him grow!

Jonathan Coates - Dan Vaden Chevrolet-Cadillac
In November we recognized Jonathan Coates as our Vaden Scholar Athlete! Jonathan's high school career has been included several honors for his athletics, academics and community leadership. He is talented in Baseball, Track and Field, and Football in which he has earned multiple honors. His academic achievements include earning an Academic Scholarship for highest GPA for four years, National AP Scholar with Honors, Georgia Merit Scholar, Wofford Scholar, winning 1st Place in Behavioral Sciences at the Science Fair. He also participates in the Science Bowl, Band, National Honor Society, Math Team, Honor Council, Small Group, Student Life Committee, and Student Council. He has also served as a Peer Tutor, NHS Chaplain, Vice President, Secretary of Student Council, Treasurer, and Honor Council Judge. Jonathan has been nominated to attend the Congressional Youth Leadership Council, the National Society of High School Scholars, HOBY and CLeW. His dedication to his community is apparent through his dedication to the Ronald McDonald House Teen Board, Memorial Children's Hospital Teen Board and Telfair Arts Museum Youth Council and his leadership roles include serving as Outreach Coordinator for RMHC. Jonathan does all of this while maintaining an astounding 4.0 unweighted GPA! We are very proud of Jonathan and we look forward to watching him continue to succeed!
